Yes, I agree: art IS a drug but it's the best kind of drug.

Initially I misread this as "Don't do Art, Do drugs" as I was only half paying attention.

Doing drugs/drinking is one thing, and not even bad in many cases. Combing it with driving is just plain stupid. I don't approve of that.

Tell you the truth, I don't even know why I'm doing this. He isn't my friend or anything, just my friend's boyfriend.
I don't approve of it either. I'm stuck in this county jail for another 30 minutes, wasting my Sunday morning.
I really do hope the guy stays away from the alcohol.

Yeah I don't like drinking at all. I never drink, EVER. I just smoke a fair amount of weed but even then I wait to drive or don't smoke at all.
Alcohol has a lot more bad news than pot. Damn, I'm sorry about your situation.

It's fine. I actually volunteered to go with my friend, because she needed the help badly.
I know. . , I'm a welcome mat, but she needed help to bail his ass.
I haven't done anything like that.
Hell, my parents offered me a drink during New Years, and I still refused.

Mind-altering drugs such as Acid, DMT, and Shrooms can truly help with self-enlightenment, mediation, and artistic inspiration. And they can be done safely if you know what you're doing.

No problem. Psychedelics are a very misunderstood subject. I think it's important that we try to spread the truth about them, so I'm glad you said something!

You wouldn't be saying that if you've experienced psychedelics and then proceeded to do art. You won't even believe the things that come out of you.

Hey, ummm, ironically... for my severe depression, anxiety, PTSD, and dissociative issues pills have not helped, but made it worse (much to the chagrin of the psychiatrist), but then we found writing actually helps. So yeah, art is better than drugs, >_>

Well, it could also be that you guys just haven't found the right combination of pills too. But writing is good.

You are seriously advocating pills, which are classified as a drug, on an anti-drug stamp? Really? When pills and pharmaceuticals have quickly become the number 1 abused drug in the United States?

Oh, I assumed you were replying to a different post, my bad.
Pills in the right combination when it comes to actually prescribed medication can be a good thing. I was just saying sometimes it's tough to find the right combination that works for a person.

Except most of these pills have side effects on the body that equal or far surpass the damage done by recreational drugs. Ritalin, a pharmaceutical drug they were prescribing without even knowing the true side effects, has been linked to actual brain damage, the death of brain cells, and stunted growth. Tramadol, issued for pain, has the side effect of being INCREDIBALLY addictive, on TOP of the seizures it can cause, as well as bringing about severe anger issues and mental instability. Heck, normal Aspirin has the side effect of thinning your blood, which can lead to a weakened clotting action as well as other things.
You can say what you will, but -prescribed- medications are still the number 1 abused drugs, and they are running rampant in America. Most of the pills that are prescribed in today's society have worse side effects than some of the hard drugs, or equal to. When you start getting into the figures, it's hard to agree with any good they may provide, especially considering most doctors write a prescription without giving it a second thought; it is their first go to response, instead of taking the time to try to treat any problems without medication first.
What you -should- be advocating for is pharmaceuticals under STRICT doctor supervision. Meaning only administered by a doctor or nurse, which even then I still don't agree with the safety of these drugs do to the side effects. But to allow someone to take any of these drugs home, you immediately relinquish any control you had over them.
Why do you think it is a crime to carry a blank prescription pill bottle? A pill bottle without a label can land you a drug charge in many states, as well as owning one that does not belong to you.
...And yet Marijuana is illegal, when it has been proven to repair the synapses of your brain, cures many ailments, and has zero side effects (save for getting high) and a zero percent death rate. Versus the thousands of people who overdose on prescription medications every day.
My favorite side effect is one for a heart attack medication. The medication is administered to prevent heart attacks......... but the side effect is heart attacks. It's utterly ridiculous.

I must also say, I'm a little put off by you telling me what I should and shouldn't advocate. You assumed I didn't agree with you because I made a short general statement. I do agree people shouldn't just be taking pills like candy, and that doses should certainly be controlled. But thanks for jumping down my throat.
