Most places around here gave up on express lines because people insisted on running carts stuffed three feet high with items through the express line. Also, they had coupons for everything and needed to write a check... buy stamps, get a money order and send the boxboy to check pricing because they're sure everything was on sale.

Iβve never understood why people bring more then five items to those checkouts. Sure, most people will ignore the arrogance, but every now and then someone will beat you to death with a frozen garlic bread. That canβt be worth the twenty seconds saved on queuing.
