It has been cancelled. There will be another SH game, I'm sure, but not with Kojima/Del Toro involved (the former of which has had a major falling out with Konami).

Arkham Knight's identity WAS really disappointing. When they started teasing towards it I was thinking "Oh, please don't let them go that route," then he took off the mask and I said "God dammit." I mean I considered his identity as a possibility before release, but shrugged it off, saying it was too obvious.

Arkham Knight is not a 'bad game'. I mean, seriously, it got lots of 8/10, 9/10 and 10/10 scores in various magazines. That's gotta mean something.
I know I enjoyed myself while playing it.
In this HTP comic strip, only the 7th and 8th panel are bad things.
Yes, collecting all the Riddler's trophies was a chore, but I've seen worse collecting games. Some of these trophies were pretty hard to get.
As for the ending, it's quite weird, yes, and we're clearly gonna have to wait for some DLC to understand it's meaning.
And yes, we all knew who the Arkham Knight was months before the game was released,
and Rocksteady tried to make us think we were wrong, to try to surprise us.
It's actually a good try, considering.
If the Arkham Knight was actually a completely new guy, instead of saying "oh, it's him",
everybody would've been saying "we don't care for this guy, we wanted the one we were all thinking was behind that mask".
To me, the real problem of Arkham Knight (and we all saw it coming, I think) is that the game is way too Batmobile-focused.
The Riddler setting race-tracks, Deathstroke fighting in a tank instead of hand-to-hand combat, etc...
But the car is actually nice to drive, once you're used to it.
As you can see in panels 4, 5 and 6 of this comic strip, the story is pretty great. There's A LOT of awesome moments and great ideas.
And as for the PC problems, well, I played it on PC, I got no problem at all. As long as you got the recommanded hardware, it works fine.
Anyway, I'm ticked to read people saying 'the game is bad' or 'I returned it' etc etc.
But maybe you should wait for a Game of the Year version with all DLCs inside or something...

Seriously, I couldn't get to 100%, just because of the Riddler. I beat every villain and got everyone behind bars, EXCEPT the Riddler. Because I find him to be pathetic and annoying. And I know, that's kind of the point, with everything he does being just to get Batman's attention. I just feel like it was done a little too well. I mean, every time I heard the Riddler talk, I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes in real life. A few times I failed, and crashed the batmobile.Β
And yeah, him refusing to fight you until you got all of his stupid riddle trophies, made me almost return the game. Because of Riddler, I will never get 100% completion on this game, and I will never see the full ending.

Agreed. Although, I kinda loved how mad he got towards the end. We you're at 10 trophies left to get, he makes an angry comment at each one you get.Β

I was SO disappointed in this god damn game.Β They made such a big deal of the dual-play combat and it ended up being relegated to side missions. The hyped up the Batmobile and it turned out to be used for a few enjoyable moments, and an obnoxiously repetitive number of mind numbing tank battles.Β

They promised us a conclusion to the epic story line they began... and instead of seeing Batman and his whole team face off against the Gotham rogues we saw Batman rescue a brigade of worthless hostages and fight the Scarecrow, his whiny lackey, with the rest of them being little more than a forgettable afterthought.

Also where the hell is the replayability? I spent hours and hours delighting in playing all the different character and adjusting the modifiers for all the challenge maps in Arkham Cityβs challenge mode, why did they take all that away and replace it with that worthless watered down βAR Challengeβ!?

Iβm not even going to go into the let down of the 100% ending, because it was covered perfectly in Jackβs How To Play, but one last thingβ¦ Why, dear god WHY did they base their game world off of Joel Schumacherβs neon soaked abomination of Gotham instead of the true Gotham with its towering spires, dark alleys, and astounding atmosphere. Why was Arkham ORIGINS of all things the only one to deliver on how Gotham should feel!?

They tricked us with their wordplay. After all, the Arkham Knight identity is an original concept & creation, but they never said his secret identity or motivation was original...

And the guy under the mask of the Arkham Knight did not have exactly the same story than in the comics.
But it's not as much of an original character as much as it is a parallel version of a character we know.

They put far too much emphasis on the Batmobile in this, which in turn caused the final battle with Deathstroke to be massively dull and underwhelming. They should've done something similar to what the fight was like in Origins, that at least felt like a real struggle between the two.Β
Also with the ending, I was hoping of there being alternate endings - The first being with Joker taking full control of Batman (as we originally saw before they somehow said "now here's what REALLY happened...") and giving us a brief look at what would've happened, and then obviously the ending they gave us.

Honestly, after playing the game I don't blame you.

I remember finishing the main quest...only to learn that you don't even get the f***ing credits unless you at least take out every single member of the Arkham Knight's militia. And then the game basically says "BZZZZZT!!! Sorry! You don't get the WHOLE ending unless you finish every side mission AND solve every f***ing riddle!"
Then I just looked up the "true" endng on YouTube. It wasn't worth it anyway.
Anyhow, terrific to see HTP back, & great job, but no mention on how unbelievably forced in the Batmobile sections are? Well, you do only have eight panels...
