Description
Quick pic of the saddest scene I have watched on the big screen in YEARS. I genuinely got a little choked up, because that was the first dinosaur we ever saw on our very first trip to Isla Nublar in 1993..... and it was the last dinosaur we saw as Isla Nublar burnt up.Related content

No, humanity should definitely learn from their mistakes, but not from mistakes where they know full well the ramifications of said mistake. Claire understood that while letting the dinos go would save them, it also meant havoc brought on the unsuspecting populace nearby. Hell, I'm sure Maisie knew that too, but she decides to do it anyway. The Jurassic Park series was basically saying "We wanted to do something amazing, we didn't do the right things, and it blew up in our faces." With the dinos left on an island surrounded by vast oceans, the mistake was contained, and stayed as a reminder to others of what can happen when you try to do something like it without much precaution. Jurassic World comes along, and they just do the same mistakes over again, but with much larger consequences. The old saying "Those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it", is basically what happens in the first Jurassic World. New rich guy comes along, thinks he can do what the first rich guy couldn't, makes more mistakes, and then tons of tourists get horribly attacked or killed. When you make a mistake, you should make it because you didn't realize what that choice could do. Say you pressed a button that ended up sending a tidal wave to a coastal city, killing tons of people and ruining lives, but you didn't think it would do that. You made a mistake because you didn't realize the problem it would cause. Now say you pressed that button, knowing it would do that exact thing, but did it anyway. That's not a mistake. Another thing is during WWII, the Nazis had a secret code that for years no one could figure out. In secret, British scientists finally worked out the code, and found out a few targets were soon to be hit by the Nazis. They could have stopped the attacks, but realized that if they did, the Nazis would figure out they broke the code, and then just make a new one, ultimately destroying years of work. They had to make the tough choice of sacrificing lives to ensure the war was to be won by the Allies. With JW2, there is no benefit from letting them go out into world other than allowing what few dinos are left to live, and set up another sequel. Yes, Rexy gets to live, but there is no benefit for her to roam free in Northern California, other than she'll be in the third movie. That is my problem. In the JP/JW universe, they do not know that this is setting up for a third movie. Their actions, to them, are real and true. They made the decision to let dangerous beasts roam free near captivity.

Considering they were willing to gas the dinos, that sounds awfully familiar.
I mean, It's Alright if the Americans are doing it, and not the Germans.

Director Colin said the 3rd will have no more hybrids. Just cloned dinos around the globe.

That'll be interesting to see in third JW film how globe has adopted animals that should have faced they end.
The globe has become Jurassic World.

That was a choker of a scene, a quiet pause among the action and the tense horror to come so we can all bid a sombre farewell.
