Iβm always wary when I hear of people in power targeting specific groups with irrational and/or hysteria-fuelled justification. As a history nut I can say it has never ended well. Ever.
Also, the more this has escalated, the more I have felt that Vladimir Putin (topless cross-country jockey and current Russian President) doth protest too muchβ¦.

Is he even African American, or is that something the African Americans just decided? It's a serious question. I don't know, last I heard people were saying he was from Iran or something but I don't recall anything coming out of it.

In Russia (if you forgive my entry on the state of affairs) it goes just beyond simple pursuits, in fact - status quo of gay people along the masses ~equal United States 1983, but with also rotting orthodoxal church openly supporting such policy by hatred.Β
In general world wide eye that might seem morbid, but come on guys - U.S. and europe also been there at some point or another. Give it some time. Wow, I'm honestly having a hard time figuring out your stance from that. Are you for or against homosexuality?
From what I understand, homosexuality is caused by a very specific variety of hormone production imbalance. This means it is in fact something one is born with, and it's not something that can be changed permanently. Or if it can, then it would require surgery or gratuitous amounts of medication and no self-comfortable gay would go through with it.
So yes, it's silly to promote homosexuality as a cause. But then, you don't see anyone saying that dwarfs or albinos can't get married, do you?

it's a little thing called trying to be as objective as possible and not being swayed by popular sentiments.. whether gay people should be treated the same as everyone else holds no bearing on whether or not homosexuality is a reproductive disorder or whether or not it's rational to say that it shouldn't be promoted as something that's healthy
dwarves and albinos can reproduce, by the way... not a great example... (and no, infertile couples would be a meaningless example too, infertility is already recognised as a disorder)

I can see where you're coming from. Just remember that homosexuality is neither a positive or negative condition from a PERSONAL health standpoint. So since it's not explicitly better or worse for someone (not to mention that we have the technology to make test tube babies), there's no reason to want to "fix" it. Like I said, gays tend to be comfortable with who they are, and so wouldn't accept heterosexuality medication even if it were to exist and be offered.

is this one of those things where people apply broad generalizations and simplified labels to people in order to avoid addressing any of their points and discussing issues in any real depth?
like when people call others "dumb liberals" when they want to kill babies or "dumb conservatives" when they want to shoot people? it's like putting them in a category means you don't have to think about any of the stuff they're saying and can just dismiss it all
