Finally got around to watching the film whilst on a flight home from abroad.
It's bad enough that Han got shish-kabarbed with that stupid lightsaber. But, why in the name of all that is holy did the best smuggler in the sci-fi universe got killed by some whiny virgin goth bitch??! Hell, he made young Anakin Skywalker look like a badass in comparison, for God's sake!!! If this is the best that Disney can do, then they might as well scrap the story, and add a load of singing and dancing instead for the next one. Fuck it, they might as well let the characters sing "Let it go" for next hour or so, for all the good it would do.
George had really screwed it up when he sold his creation to Disney...

At this point it's impossible to say who's screwed Star Wars more: Lucas or Disney. Both aren't my favorite things in the world, but if this is going to be the highlight of the last trilogy, then perhaps it's time we found a new sci-fi to worship.

Well, Star Wars: Rogue One looks really promising, at least.
Sadly, the days of decent sci-fi series on TV seems to be over. The Star Gate franchise had a good running over the years, until Star Gate: Universe killed it off for good. And then, there was Firefly, which I heard was really good but never got to watch (although I have heard rumours that the writers almost blatently copied off the first episode of Outlaw Star). There was Farscape, which was both fantastic and brilliant, with Ben Prowder and Claudia Black giving their best performances (damn that cliff-hanger finale!). And then last, but not least, and definitely my absolute fav is Red Dwarf, with unique story devices and ingenious comic acting by Craig David, Chris Barrie, Danny Don Jules, and Robert Llewywenen (I don't know to spell his last name). Sadly though, after the two writers split, and the BBC's sudden obession with political correctness, seasons 7 and 8 were shit.
still, let's hope that Rogue One delivers...

We so need a sci-fi series that won't fade away or get under the BBC. Outlaw Star and Galaxy Angel might be good starts (the latter deserves a better anime!) but who knows?

I have a love hate relationship with it. One, I think its actually a cool design and it is practical as demonstrated by Ray park. Two, this lightsaber is stained with the blood of a very loved man.

First of all, those are probably stormtroopers that he is shooting at, mainly because there are so many shot but not one has hit him
Second, why would you want to shoot a wookie, because once they're close enough, they won't use the bowcaster, they'll rip your arms off

I mean, that's my favorite lightsaber in the entire series so far. So I can't agree with that. And I really like Kylo Ren, so I can't say much on that.
But, yeah, having your favorite character killed, right in front of you, in 3D because every other showing was sold out, is heart wrenching.
