I can't imagine how this would work, but must admit that it's a pretty cool looking design.
However, some of the placements of things seems rather questionable, such as there being two charging handles: one on the butt-stock and another on the receiver. I also see what sort of looks like a magazine release, front of the trigger, even though the magazine is placed in the rear like a bullpup.
Still, I think the design looks pretty neat if you look at it from a film/video game perspective.
One thing I do like for it's practicality is the use of flip-up iron sights and a rail system. That's more how I imagine "futuristic weapons" to actually be like, instead of having no back-up iron sights and just a high-tech looking optic or maybe an optic and just one front iron sight. These days, we may rely more on optics and such, but iron sights still exist for a reason: back-up. Optics can fail due to damage to the lenses or batteries dying.

Looks impractical, the magazine is in no way in line with the bolt, i dont see how you could chamber a round

How would the mechanics of it work? Doesn't look like there is any room or support for the bolt and feeding mechanism

I would assume there is a sort of hooking system that would pull the rounds out from the magazine like a certain prototype Russian gun that I know of. As for ejection of the rounds, that's an issue I can't address myself since I can\t seem to find the ejection port on this thing.

Ejection port's right under the bolt in the stock

the design looks cool, but damn that would be a tough mag change

I really like this design, and might buy a copy for use in a mod. but i want to ask:
Are the working parts, the mag, charging handle, bolt etc separate objects?
Do the ironsights detach, or at least swivel?
Would you consider texturing the model as well?
would you also consider making an assault rifle edition with long and short barrels?
If you can answer these questions, that would be greatly appreciated.

Id hafta say that while I agree, that weapon system would be a bitch to use in my line of work (11B, Army Infantry), it still looks bad ass as hell...good work man.

Can you describe in more detail what in that would be a bitch? Realism and functionality is important to me in my concepts, I want to make serious ideas about future weapons. And I've only got experience of a cheap AK47-copy done in the 60s from cast iron (Rk62), I'd love to hear a pro's view.

Changing the magazine on that sucker would suck. The less steps there are to do things in combat, the better. On that gun design, you would have to roll the weapon barrel all the way up past your head, up in the air behind you to get ahold of the magazine. AR platforms make changing mags easy, the magazine is right in front of your hands (humans can naturally bring their hands together in the dark, which may not seem important but trust me), and it takes a simple push of a button to drop the magazine, and another very accessible button is used to unlock the bolt from the rear.

i was wondering what he ment to because i own guns and hunt and this seems very suitable for many light weight situations my shotgun is harder to carry then this looks like it wud be which military grade i wud expect this so idk what he ment but i thought u nailed it

That is one really well done model/render. It's sad people are actually wasting their time talking about recoil and inefficient magazine design or how realistic it is when it's a piece of art someone took time and effort on. who gives a shit about realism that's one bad azz model and we should view it as such.

inefficient magazine design. it would be a bastard trying to reload that mag seeing as it is slanted opposite you and is loaded similarly to a P90.

not even close to a P90 style of reloading

I like. Trying to imagine what the recoil would be like with most of the weight to the rear like that.

Excellent design and extremely well modeled, but I'm trying to understand the functionality of what looks like two ammo feeds. One on the butt, and one above the trigger, unless one of them isn't a feed.

Awesome Design, I like how you designed details in three dimensions, instead of just two, as many sci-fi-weapon designers do.

i can already see how this would be used in a multiplayer game:
Pros- Quick fire rate, extremely stable, large clip
Cons- Long Reload, wide bullet spread over distance

Sick.
Extended barrel shroud/foregrip and optics on the rail. Otherwise, absolutely sick--and functional, it seems. Side view would be cool, also.
I'm in agreement with the range limitation of the round, unless they're not regular pistol rounds; i.e., nonstandard HE propellant-charge bullets. With, say, metamaterial forward curvature for improved ballistics.
Mmmm...

Very nice, I think this would actually run incredibly well as a close to mid range weapon. Especially when paired with a good optic. Seems the limitation is the round you are using (pistol rounds under perform).
only suggestion I have is the addition of hand stop up on the foreend, possibly extending the weapon's body so it shrouds more of the barrel so the operator can grip further forward and higher for greater control.
Other than that looks ready for production.
