Actually the concept kinda reminds me of the Borki Disaster of 1888, the derailment of the royal train of Tsar Alexander III. Legend has it that the great bear of an emperor held the roof of the dining car on his back long enough for his family to escape. It's also often blamed for the Tsar's death, internal injuries claiming his life 2 months later.
