Shown here without the telescoping rod that drops it down to the level of the users face when they are standing beneath the Arcos MK I, this panel is intended to allow ramp access and therefore access to the vessel's interior when the ramp is sealed shut. To do this, the user either initiates a pre-agreed code word or phase, and the panel is released from a well in the underside of the ship and drops down. Once in place, the user can access the ship by using yet another pre-agreed code or phrase, or to enter a security code directly into the panel which will then release the ramp.
