Thanks! Your washes are looking brilliant. The variety of techniques you're mastering is truly impressive. I've sort of picked a style and stuck to it, but you're rockin all kinds of stuff and it's fantastic to see.

I've seen more of this great grayscale tonal stuff (watercolors or digital watercolors)--this is not a problem for colorists, then? I'd love to incorporate some tones in my stuff, but I didn't want to screw up the end product for the coloring steps...

Gorgeous work... loving the little touches like the white strokes in the smoke and all.

Very nice, but is this one of those covers that has absolutely no relevance to whats inside the book? lol

Do you mean in terms of the cover style versus the interior style? Nope, what you see on the cover is what you get in the book. That was our goal from the very beginning

I just meant that sometimes you get these really nice covers that have zero relevance to the actual book
Marvel did something recently where they had Spider-Man and Spider-Woman on the cover of New Avengers and had some "Spider Team Up!" tagline on it, and I think one of them didn't even appear in the issue, let alone it being a team up
All that being said, very nice work

man...loving what you and philip are doing. you guys are really redefining the penciler inker relationship! question. how do you get rid of those blue lines? I actually draw most of my stuff on the back of the page. but I draw my interiors on the front side I just make sure to stay inside the blue line. And when I do go over I just rubber stamp them out in photoshop. which works but is a pain. So i'm curious what your scan/ clean up process is.

Thanks man I really appreciate it, really. I'm loving what you are doing with your work and have mad respect my man.
My process for getting rid of the blue is this:
1)I scan everything in RGB mode
2)go to channels then select the blue channel (initially they'll all highlighted. You'll see all the blue drop out.
3)Go to the menu bar Image>Mode>Grayscale.
Thats it. From there I'll usually adjust level when I need to

cool thanks! yeah I scan everything in color as well I find that it picks up more tones. But I generally keep it in rgb to retain that warmer feel that it has rather than grayscale. I've never used channels but I'll have to try that trick out thanks!!

hhmmm... yeah i'm not sure if it will work in your case. I'll have to do some digging around in PS to see.

yeah I think taking out the blue changes the tone of the page unless I keep it in grayscale. I think the best solution for me is to just draw on the back of the board. less time eaten up by PS
