Description
This is part of my collection of past digital art – deviations that I don't consider to be of significant artistic value, but are part of my journey as an artist.

Inspiration
This is one of my pieces of art in a series of emotion-based eye manipulations (the only one I didn't remove from deviantART). I worked with ~Deathamusesme to create them.

Hope was one of the emotions that I really wanted to do. It is one of the most powerful things in all of humanity. Even in the darkest places, hope can light up your eyes.

Technique
In this piece, I began with a very inspiring picture and spent some time imagining what it would end up like. When I started, I isolated the iris before adjusting the hue to the flared gold, and then the highlights and shadows so that it seemed to glow. From that, I merged the layers and then darkened the shadows so that the pupil was truly a beacon of light - the symbol of hope.
