Description
This is part of my collection of past digital art – deviations that I don't consider to be of significant artistic value, but are part of my journey as an artist.Inspiration
Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
– "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen
In this picture, I tried to combine the old with the new.
That's music from Handel's Messiah, and those are iPod headphones.
(Completely different centuries.)
I wanted to show that music carries on forever —
"Were it not for music, we might in these days say, the Beautiful is dead."
– Benjamin Disraeli
Technique
This picture has gone through several transformations.
In the beginning, it was a simple picture, almost all white (and very boring). I edited it so that it was a more sepia style, without actually knowing what sepia was, and it's been like that for quite a while. That first edit actually took a long time mainly because it began very bland and I continued to adjust the tones and saturation until I was happy with it.
But I redid this, mainly because I still felt that it was too boring. Using a vintage paper stock image and a setting on Photoshop, I added the layer of texture to give it more of a significance to the theme of time.
I had to do it twice because the layers became merged and I had to start again.
Special Mentions
*HtBlack , because she critiqued my first try and helped me fix it up.
The paper texture is from here by ~S3PTIC-STOCK .

I love music art, I have a thing for microphones, rather photos and art peices of them. It sort of describes a certain theme of mine. Very nice.

This picture is stunning. the sepia coloring is amazing. it makes the headphones look like they are antique, it really pulls the whole picture together. (:

I really like this photo and the contrast between the new headphones and the old music sheet,
though maybe if the paper creases didnt go across the headphones , and if the headphones were white and the paper sepia would have made the headphones stand out. (not sure how to recreate the colour on the HP, but guess you can with some PS).

Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
And yeah, that might have been a good decision. Unfortunately I don't have the .psd file anymore. But I'll keep it in mind next time, of course.

texture is good... altough you should have paid attention that the wrinkles of paper dont get on the heasdphones, and they did so itz kinda looks wird now, it was blended perfectly togethers even without that, this way it just seems wird for me
all in all great shot

I Keep Looking At Your Pictures,
Loving Them, Then Going On To See What You Wrote,
To Find Not Only Do You Take Beautiful Pictures,
But You're A Beautiful Person,
I Love The Song Hallelujah, (Exspecially Brandie Carlile's Version)
I Love The Your Veiws, And THe Quotes You Have.
Sorry, I'm Rambling A Bit,
And I'm Sure This Is The First Comment Of Many.
