Either the Mega Stone was modded or this is following that one Manga, "Poke Blast...." something? I know it's a Manga comic that involves trainers morphing into Pokemon and rarely see any pokeballs...

It's actually Pokemon ReBURST! that you're thinking of and it was more of an anthro hybrid form. I'd compare it to that fusion in Megaman NT warrior.
