Oh, I remember this one - it's nice to have a better look at it now. I like the difference in how the cloth moves and how the air itself does - it's a good contrast.

I loved the abstract feeling given by stiff flows. (Stifflows. ) Nice pick of colours too.

I just really love the overall composition, and how the muted background elements contrast sharply with that brilliant aqua color.

This has so many nice contrasts -- the color combos (yellow and blue), the space between figure and sky (really pleasing)...

Hi John
I'm curious how you started doing work for card games like this and the games workshop stuff you do, did they approach you or did you approach them with a portfolio or something like that?
Nice work, I like the pirate piece you did for games workshop.

Thanks Mr Joe!
With me it was mixture of sending off submissions, meeting people at conventions, and networking through old friends who knew people who knew people.

I love the tops of the buildings, they add so much to the environment. And the birds are great too, each one original. I love it! ^.^

I like how she looks like she is casting some sort of spell on the city below.
And since I have no reference for the inspiration behind this, I will stick with my imagination...
nicely done.

Thank you! The card in the game is, I beleive, a spell card.

It's beautiful, I love your pick of colours. But why do the things flowing in the air look so stiff and angled, rather than soft and flowing?

Umm... because I wanted them to look like that?
I hear what you're saying. I feel what I lose in soft mood I feel I'm gaining in some graphic qualities as "eye grabbers" on a gaming card. Obviously everyone's mileage will vary on whether that works or not!

I never said I didn't like it, I was just curious why you chose to make them like that.
