Description
Another character design assignment. This time we had to create two characters, one being the antagonist and one as the protagonist. This is the counter part [link] , and you can decide which is which. It's strangely refreshing considering to make Chinese characters, considering how much Japanese style has dominated today's asian aesthetics. The next cool thing to see for me to see would be Korean characters with historic Korean aesthetic, because I'm not really familiar with that.Photoshop colors over pencil lines, and I used a chinese painting as a texture in the backround. Can anyone find the bat?

The sash around the character drew my attention immediately. At first I thought it was a serpent, it was so fluid in its movement. Beautiful colors and they blend so effortlessly.

The dress (i want to call this a kimono but i don't think that's quite right) design is wonderfully detailed and matches the background perfectly. The Expression on the face is captured wonderfully. Great picture

I really like the floating scarf, and the way the patterns are placed on the costume (that's not just some copy/pasting of the same pattern a few times, for sure!); they follow the folds pretty well. Very pleasant picture, very aerial too, in a way--which fits the title itself. I'm not sure if this would be the protagonist or the antagonist; I can imagine both of them in each role if needed, so I think it'll remain a mystery, thus adding a more intriguing twist to the story behind it

incredible work. Beautiful design and pose, very nice colours and a really great sense of depth and movement.
I THINK I found the bat... background, bottom left? If that isn't it, it sure looks like a bat to me

Ah, that's a lovely piece! For some reason, I find the background particularly appealing.
One thing: that little green piece at the bottom (the foot? If it is a foot, it doesn't look quite right...) bothers me. Part of it, I think, is the colour; if it were slightly lighter in colour, it might look better. But then, maybe I'm just trying to be nitpicky for the sake of giving a comment that isn't just "omg i liek ur work", because I know that I, personally, prefer constructive comments.
Seriously, though, great job! I shall have to stop by and see the counterpart.
