Not original. Done by one of the concept artist for Weta during the creation of the films. That was 14 years ago.

I don't understand what you mean - what's "it"? These three paintings?

I had no idea. Great minds think alike, idiots seldom differ, as they say.

Watch the extended editions of the films. It's in the art gallaries. Line for line.

Oh wait, I thought you were talking about my Witch King piece. Now I really have no idea what you're talking about.
I think my work here owes more to the Bakshi cartoon than the Weta work.

Great work, especially the crippled one - the image of the skulking about smelling the air is always something I thought was great

I love how worn and decrepit the middle character looks.

It's so amazing how you can give this character some kind of fluidity which makes me feel like he is going to pop out from drawing !

A really nice and intelligent way to differentiate them without loosing the all "black hood - black coat" concept. You really suceed where Games Workshop and ICE failed.

Objection! A Nazgul is the dragon thing that the Ring Wraiths ride. This is a depiction of a ring wraith...
...And a good one at that

Pretty sure both the wraiths and their winged mounts are called Nazgul. Tolkien refers to their mounts as fell beasts and winged nazgul. The ring wraiths are called by that name due to that being their only purpose (to find the ring). But they are also Nazgul which is more a reference to their form (neither living nor dead as Aragorn states). rather then a specific race.

My mistake. After some research I learned that Nazgûl directly translates to Ring (Naz) Wraith (Gûl). I bow to superior knowledge good sir

I think I may prefer these Nazguls to the ones in the films... These look so... Dead. It works so well.
