I may not have the skill to take such a shot ,nor give an expert comment, but I know what I like

Your work Is Brilliant(and yes I know that means something different than it does in Canada!) and very Emotionally Evocative.

Sitting here with My Welsh Terrier Dylan(Ya I know not the most original Name) and I can almost Smell the backgrounds in your Photos

Beautiful Work and it sets a bar for me to strive for in my work

Thank You
Brian

Thank you too Brian for sharing your thoughts and honoured for the praise on this one
What does Brilliant mean in Canada then?
Happy Huntin mate

Well I hear it used on TV by commentators and the guy on "A new life in the Country" a show on people who relocate from big cities out into a non urban lifestyle and he seems to use it like we would use "beautiful or "incredible"
We just use it to denote "Bright Light"

I enjoyed your Rant and have had similar feelings about the manga explosion on DA.Some of these kids use favs like we use Hello only many many times and all without any more meaning than racking up a count on a stat sheet.Totally fricking meaningless!

Some of them do rise above the genre however and I've tried just telling them when they want to give me 5 favs for a Llama that those don't mean anything and just last evening that began a 2 hour dialogue with a fellow canadian who proved that despite her love for that "ahem" genre ;that she had some real artistic chops

I chose to Fave "Perception " because it had fewer and I thought it might mean more.
If I might ask a brief question. What source for basics on landscape photography would you recommend? Either print or web would be fine

And for the record the rest of the Gallery is absolutely "Brilliant" ::

Thanks for the reply

Brian

That`s true "Brilliance" is used in that respect here also

To be honest Brian,I have never used any sources online for Landscape help and tips,I learnt my basics reading Photography magazines (still do) and studying many fellow shooters here too and of course trail and error and practice

This guy >>> [link] is a member and knows about a helluva lot of sites, you may find plenty if you check his back journals or send him a note,I`m sure he could point you some www to some

Cheers again for the kind words

Just one question Johny (i hope i spelled that good ) do you manipulate a lot your photos ? i mean you edit then because the colours at least in this galery are just unbelievebly surreal .

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JonnyGoodboy In reply to SaPr0 [2009-10-07 20:01:36 +0000 UTC]

Jonny is fine my man
Every thing I sub gets a bit of processing Bogdan, whether it`s some cloning where needed (like here for example,a bit if bank was cloned out where you see my name ),the shot might be lightened or darkened here and there sometimes, but generally they get a contrast boost, then resized and finally sharpened and if there`s any noise there, try to eliminate that too
