Wow. I love the texture of the tusks and the skin and the dryness of the hair. Very nicely done!

Wow. I guess that's just as impressive as it should be after 190 hours.

Wow. Β I had to reread the artist description to be sure that this is in fact a drawing and not a photograph. Β This is by far the most excellent example of photorealism I have ever seen! Β This is amazing. Β I'm trying to come up with some valid criticism here - more than just a dropped jaw - but I've got nothing. Β This is truly stupendous.

Very nicely done. About the only place I can tell that it is pencil and not a photo is right around the feet. Superb!

Okay, I'm now on my computer, and even more blown away.Β And 190 hours doesn't even seem adequate, now that I've seen it on your facebook link.Β
You have an incredible gift.

I would be really interested about seeing a close-up or a higher res.
Honestly even if it this was just a photo I would have faved it, but as a drawing, I'm at loss for words.

Amazing. I saw this on my (rather large) cell phone screen and thought it was a photograph. The detail, the play of light and dark, and to think that it was all created on paper by a human hand rather than captured using a camera. I can't wait to see this on my computer screen.

Love it! What are the dimensions? The dark background anchors the figure in a way I don't see in my work. I'm always using plain white backgrounds and I simply hate it. My work has been at a plateau for many years now, because I'm not advancing what I see in a photograph in any meaningful way. What I see here is where I want to go. The addition of the horns injects an otherwise fine drawing with fire, passion and imagination. And then there's the background. It brings a certain power to the scene, it threatens the figure, and adds to the sense of vulnerability you describe.
Have you ever thought to combine any of the oil-based charcoals with your graphite? Cretacolor Nero is available in 5.6mm sticks that are wonderful for larger work, and wooden Nero pencils for detailed work. General's Kimberly 9XXB is as dark as you can get without using pure charcoal. The Staedtler 8B and 7B pencils are also wonderful to use.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm so happy to be following your work!

Thank you for the beautiful in depth comment. I appreciate your advice on the charcoal. I have been experimenting with it but have not yet pulled up the courage to produce a full work using it.
All the best with your drawing in the future. I hope you break through that wall of yours
