This is a painting I started about the same time we started "Path of Enlightenment" In fact I worked on this one, while my girlfriend was working on that. I soon got more involved in it with her so this one was put aside. When we finished I got back to working on this one.
It has changed a lot from what it started out as. I found certain things weren't working so changed them. It's usually what happens when translating an idea from a sketch to canvas. I made purple the main color through out the painting since we love purple. As with all my paintings I have a hard time photographing them myself so there is a little glare from the sun and it isn't quite the exact color, but relatively close. So enough of my rambling, we hope you like looking at it

Thank you very much yeah, because of the lighting while taking the photo the dimples of the canvas sort of reflect light making it look a little grainy(if that is what you are talking about
). It's clearer and smoother when seeing it in person

Sweet!!1 and that happens to alot of traditly rendered pices!! my colorpencil works are shiny and grossing in person but on the computer it loses that quatily.

This is fabulous!
I love the purple tone too, it gives your works this peaceful aura.
It's relaxing to see how the elements work well together, and the light somehow seems to renew our energy.
I feel such a positive vibration from it that I'm afraid I can't put into words.
The grass texture is almost calling for us to sit there and relax!
Aw, you know I love your paintings!
I'm happy to see beutiful pieces from you!
*hugs you both*

It's really amazing how you two draw something on a little white paper.
Now I'm interested in which medium you use to draw and how you work an idea out. I would like to get a small glimpse of how I could get better with drawing backrounds.
The art is amazing. I love water with the nature on both sides.

Thanks so much for the compliment
I use just a plain old pencil and a drawing tablet, nothing fancy. My girlfriend uses better pencils, but she does pretty much the same.
When it comes to ideas it's hard for all of us, but most of the time I just start drawing lines until something starts to look interesting. I study the world around me and sometimes use photos to help me bring my ideas to life.
As for backgrounds I wasn't very good at it, so I started trying to do more and more so that I could get better. I did get a book that is really simple and did help me out in the beginning and it may help you. It's called "Drawing Scenery: Landscapes and Seascapes" by Jack Hamm. You may be able to get it at a local bookstore or you can find it on Amazon.com. Good luck creating.
