Hey. Good photo - I'd like to briefly critique it although I don't have a premium account.
The subject is great. Without knowing you shot it through glass, I would have advised not getting so close next time The head is placed pretty well, but it would have been nice to have a bit more from the right side of the frame and some buffer zone. Try giving the image a half inch black frame and see what that does for it. The focus is also almost there. In front of the snake's right nostril, that area is out of focus to the point of distraction, mainly because his nose is so goddamn big. Not your fault though, haha. If you can, you might consider editing out or reducing the "pop" of the little piece of bedding on the left. You draw attention to the snake's eye with the sharp focus, but that piece of bedding is about the same distance from the lens and therefore also super-sharp. Color and lighting are superb, especially considering you shot through glass. Signature was tastefully positioned, sized, etc.

Thanks again for the helpful critiqué! Feel free to say what you will on any of my photos. I'm still very much a beginner, so any criticism will likely be something that helps me better my work.
I'll have to try the black frame; now I'm curious as to how it would look.
I definitely agree, regarding the piece of bedding. When I was re-sizing the shot, I kept telling myself "that piece of bedding is kind of distracting", but I suppose I chose to err on the side of minimizing editing. I suppose I was afraid I was being overcritical, but I'm starting to wonder if that's even possible. I'll be sure to go back and tone down, or edit out the bedding when I test out the black frame, now that you've mentioned it.
Again, I take pleasure in your critiqués, even if they aren't official. You've been kind enough to pad the negative with the positive, and are non-accusatory in your choice of words, and I appreciate that. It's equally important to understand what is being done correctly as incorrectly.
I'll look forward to your next critiqué.
By the way, nice signature.

Oh, haha. I just realized that you also took the "The Scent of Weasel" photo. Could've saved myself some prefacing.

Thanks for your feedback yourself
A quick glance at your gallery tells me you're an intrepid photographer. I'll have to pick a few more for critiquing a bit later. Gotta use that studio arts minor somehow...
And the sig was shamelessly stolen from someone who in turn probably did the same ad infinitum. Teaching truly is a noble profession
