Description
It's been a long time coming, but I've finally finished Benihime. It's made primarily from plywood and balsa wood, with red cord for the knot, red string for the tassle and craft foam for the detail as the bottom of the hilt.
Painted with a combination of spray paint and enamel paint, and finished off with spray on clear varnish.
I'd like to thank Nic from studiohybrid.org [link] and for ideas and advice.

i actually think its better than chioks but its a very close race. i love the detail and persions you added, such as the 3d flower symbol on the guard and the shine thats on it the only thing im kinda iffy on is the handle wrapping, it looks a bit, well its could have been bettter, but besides that i think its the best model of a ll time. it was a prety close race betwen chioks though...
great job!

I'll attempt to wrap my next sword. I didn't wanna try too many new things with my first project.
Check back in a couple of weeks and see my next project, I've yet to start it because I'm away working, but I have a week off work when I get back so it should get done then.

Holy crap, this is amazing! Absolutely stunning work - this is one of the best Benihimes out there for sure.

Well, I'm no longer making a Benihime, my sister called it and it looks unreleastic and crappy.

Thanks, a lot of hard work went into it.
Think I won't use plywood next time, it was a nightmare at times with chipping when beveling the edge.

It is really good. I wanted to make a Benihime using some of Nic's steps, Chioky's steps, and Featherweight's (cosplay.com) cardboard katana tutorial to make this. It did turn out to be beautiful!

Simply fantastic, I am at a lost of words
I knew there was atleast one benihime design on the net that would blow mine right out of the water. And the person who did that was the guy who made that guide showing how he made benihime in your link. Your patience has done a great job and it looks outstanding. When I compare my benihime to yours its alot different. Your benihime is buff and strong while mine is slim and light. Ive been waiting a long time to see a better benihime on deviantart and this day I have seen it.
It would be epic if both our benihime's could be in the same photo together

Thanks for that Chioky.
Now I need to think up one I can do by my own design.
Thinking about it, I reckon it's gotta be a Shikai Zanpakuto. I was thinking of doing Zabimaru, but I've deceided against it, so now I'm blank.
