I know you were forced to put in all those animals, but man - it sure breaks up the focal point. None the less I think it's a fabulous image - I hope you're proud of it, you've shown considerable effort in it.
The spot that pops out at me right away is the upper left quadrant - it feels so empty, barely even anything to pull our eye around.... I'd consider throwing a bit more orange light to the otherside of that wolf's head, to close some of that space up - it wouldn't take much, but it would gladly pull some of that focus back to the center. I think the problem is that his nose points away into that upper corner.... aaaand there's nothing there. Sorta a road block of visual movement.
I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more variety of shape in this too, there's a lot of the same shapes happening. The curse of a lot of rocks/mountains (I do this a lot too, I admit it lol)
I love your color scheme and the watercolory look. I would consider putting a bit more green around the image though, again the upper left quadrant would benefit here, even if hinted at in the clouds - it doesn't take much, even a relatively unnoticeable amount can help.
I hope this helps, I'm digging a bit deeper than I would normally since I know you're looking for critiques - so be aware, none of these are big glaring errors. I'm afraid that for real critiques I'd recommend placing it on conceptart.org, where they know their stuff a bit better. Assuming the intimidation factor isn't an issue, it is for a lot of people :\

good ideas! As for as the upper left corner - there needed to be some blank space in the piece somewhere for the game title & menu so although it doesn't work as well as a standalone piece, it definitely will be effective as our splash screen
Im so so happy with Jon's work on this and can't wait to see him implement some of your idea (adding orange and green light)

I agree... the upper left is sort of bland... i think partly i was thinking thats where the game menu was going to go, but i REALLY REALLY love the idea of throwing more orange light in there and i will do that.
and ohh green in the clouds... another very good idea, ill also do that! Thank you so much man!

Liking it quite a bit, Jon! May want to cut down sizeably on the mammoth's ears, they had ears even tinier than an Indian elephants. That dust is ingenious, does a great job of emphasizing the wolves with natural effects. Also, FOXY!
