here's a redesign of the Sonic Odyssey version of Tails. You see the comic is taking influence from almost every previous sonic continuities and the general plot is based on sonic satam with robotnik having already took over the world and Sonic being teamed up with a team of freedom fighters and the problem is that both Tails and Rotor fill the role of team mechanic. This gets more complicated when you consider that I plan to have Uncle Chuck in the group, now while Chuck could be mainly used as the mentor figure I really can't see Rotor as anything other than a mechanic. So I decided to put a little more focus on a trait I added to Tails since the beginning of this little project of him being a paranormal investor type. now the reasons for this are 1) Gravity Falls is one of my all time favorite cartoons and I notice some similarities between Tails and Dipper 2) he tends to sprout exposition about lore in the games like how he talked about the Babylonians in sonic riders and just knowing about the lost hex in lost world 3) it's a way to keep Tails as a smart guy while also keeping him more active 4) no matter what canon you follow sonic's world is filled with all sorts of weird things and I figure at least someone would be interested in it.

I feel that this trait could open up many different story ideas with Tails wanting to study mobius's paranormal elements. I based this version of Tails off of Dipper from Gravity Falls so I decided to implement elements of that in his design but didn't want to just make him look like Tails dressed as Dipper so I just had him wearing a vest like Dipper's. I also gave him a journal like Dipper's that Tails would record his adventures and all the strange things he encounters. I imagine that Tails's room being filled with notes and bulletin boards with pictures and strings on it and he was drawn to Sonic in the first place because him being a blue speedster is the kind thing he would investigate. and don't worry Tails would still be a mechanical genius and would still build planes and all that good stuff just wanted to make him and rotor more distinct. also this isn't the most extreme change I'm doing with a character based on a minor detail in this comic, Amy is a sort of wizard in this thing.
