Description
And here's the next stage of this WIP. A few things have changed. I went ahead and inked their faces so I don't accidentally erase their profiles while retouching the pencils. I changed the position of Aayla's hips so that her right hip is closer to Kit to add a little more sensuality what with this being a romantic moment for them, they are of course in the middle of a battle field surrounded by droids trying to blast themAnd I lowered Kit's hand on her other hip because being a Master Jedi he's . . . . . . a perv

From what I've read they did have feelings for each other, but, unlike Anakin and Padme, they were able to control themselves devout Jedi that they were. Though I doubt their love would have @*$%ed up the galaxy the way Ani and Padme did

Oh, well, we hope not hmm? One of the worst parts of ep 3 was when she was killed, the only femail jedi ever seen really, and she was killed the easiest of them when order 66 was given. really sucked

Yeah, but then I think the only female jedi to get any significant amount of screentime in the "movie/tv" catagory was Shaak Ti in the Clones Wars series. All the other really good jedi are in video games or comics.

hence the female jaden eh?
Female Jedi rock, and I think that the 1st time the sw people realized this was when they made mara jade.

Well, when you consider that Mara first appeared in the Thrawn Trilogy way back in '91, and throughout that time Zahn was pretty much the only author who was able to write really good action heroines, the rest of the Star Wars industry was rather slow to catch on. We didn't get Revan, Bastila, and Jaden until around 2003 when Knights of the Old Republic and Jedi Academy came out. So when the opportunity to create a female Jedi was presented to me, HELL YEAH I'm going to take it . And then we got Kreia, Visas Marr, and the Jedi Exile, but notice the pattern there. All those characters are from video games created by people hired by Lucas' people. The most prominent female Jedi (not counting Leia since she was an original character from the movies, who was still only just made into Jedi --thanks to one of the stupider retcons --are any of their retcons not stupid?) in any other medium of Star Wars is Jaina right now (Aayla did have some storylines in the old Republic comic, but that series had a continuoulsy rotating cast and now she's dead along with Mara) and Zahn was the one who created Jaina
Uh, so what was my point? Oh, yeah, the Star Wars people are very slow (hadn't meant to stand on a soap box for this reply, sorry
)

It's OK I know what you mean...although some of my male friends would disagree with you on the genders of some of the PC games characters
There are the Tales of the Sith books, where we have Nomi Sunrider and Sylvar the cathar (personal heroine) and dont forget to ad Juhani to the KotOR list. So, um, yeah, I guess the female jedi get the limelight in the later SW universe. I dont really want a greater ratio on either side, an equal an amount would be good. I guess that they have to make up for all the amazing male character there are. Now that I thinlk about it tho, there arent any great female characters that ARENT jedi. We have all the millions of male main characters that are non jedi. Han, Lando, Wedge, Jag, Gavin, Pellaeon...just to name a paltry few. Where are the ass-kickin females who arent jedi but still cool?

Yeah, I probably should've mentioned Juhani, I love her, she's a kick ass Jedi, but she doesn't have a sub-plot like the others (Jolee has the Sunry trial as well as interesting stories and funny anecdotes, Zalbarr has the Wookiee libertation, Mission has her brother to rescue from the sandpeople, Canderous helps you escape Taris, and Carth and Bastila are main characters with their own subplots as well.
And I'm sure you don't have to worry about the male/female ratio ever being equal. Though I think we're at a ratio of 1 main female character being introduced for every 5 or 8 male chracters, whereas the ratio was 1 to 20 starting with the Episode IV to . . . . , well, the release of Episode II and Knights of the Old Republic .

*sigh* star wars is a mans realm. I was the only girl playing our RPG as well, but we were all female characters, which says something I suppose
I love cathar, and my character was one. Juhani didnt inspire me to play one, but I played Kotor1 mostly for her.

That just shows not only women feel that Star Wars is lacking in female characters . By the way have you heard of Ahsoka yet? She's going to be Anakin's padawan in the new animated Clones Wars series.

I saw your pic, so yeah, I heard. Nice to see that they're 'trying' sorta. MY only hope is that they let you at least choose your gender in Force Unleashed. Dont know when I'll ever get to actually play the game. I'm not sure if you're allowed to create a character of if you have to play with a ready made guy. here's hoping for character creation
On a side not I got a star wars visual dictionary book for cheap 2nd hand. It has everything from eps 4-6, awesome reference material! I thought of you when I got it cos it has a great pic of Boba Fett in armor, and you've done some great pics of jaina in the armor.

Unfortunately, it seems like we'll have to play with the character they made for the game. They have an actor and pretty much digitally mapped his entire body into the game. But maybe they'll let us give him different outfits, at least let us customize his lightsaber .
And I do need to either finish that Jaina-in-Fett armor or do a new one

Ah well, the plus side is that the character should look and feel like a dream to play. With the graphics and the physics, I dont think it'd be all that bad that we wont be able to create characters...they couls have at least supplied a female pre-made tho....hmmm....oh well, nothing we can do except hope they make a new PC game like the KotOR series. Or even the jedi Academy series...
Dont do a new one, the old looks great. Just give it a go again when you have some time
