Description
Subtitle: Mayotte's ChoiceMayotte would simply be a footnote in the history of the world if it weren't for one detail that intrigued me--how it defied the rest of the Comoros to remain with France. And reading further about this territory's history vis-a-vis the Comoros, it has the makings of a good comic, so voila!
In 1974, France polled the four constituent islands of the Comoros archipelago regarding where they would like to go. Three out of the four chose to become an independent nation, while Mayotte chose to remain with France. So, against Comoros's wishes, Mayotte remains administered by France and Comoros has no control over it.
Anyway, let me introduce the Comoros cast from left to right:
Grand Comore (native name: Ngazidja)
Moheli (native name: Mwali)
Anjouan (native name: Nzwani)
Mayotte (native name: Mahore)
In the comic, the Comoros family members will refer to each other under their native names while the rest of the world would refer them under their official names.

The Comoros are tiny islands near the island nation of Madagascar, in between the African mainland and Madagascar.
