One of my absolute favorite Nintendo characters of all time, and my Smash Bros. Brawl main. I've always been a huge fan of Diddy Kong. Even on Donkey Kong Country 2, when most preferred to use Dixie Kong, I still favored Diddy, as he was faster than Dixie, jumped higher and farther, climbed faster, had less lag in his barrel grabbing animation, had a much more fluent barrel toss, and covered more distance with his cartwheel than Dixie did with her hair attack. I was elated when I saw how well Masuhiro Sakurai adapted Diddy to Smash Bros. Not only was he functionally similar to the Diddy of old, but his chimpanzee cries and simian body movements/facial expressions were just perfect representations of Diddy (I was initially afraid, after playing Melee, that Diddy would simply be a clone of Donkey Kong). And, yes, I enjoyed using Diddy even more when I discovered how deadly his banana peel maneuvers can be, and how well he matches up against virtually every character in Smash Bros. Brawl. So here's to the awesome der monkey.
