Description This is the possum Gabe hissed at repeatedly until it left. Note the wounds on its sides. Not sure what happened to it. What's very weird is that this picture was taken at almost noon the other day. They are usually only out after it starts getting dark.

Minor adjustment of overall picture in Photoshop CS2 (duplicated the background layer and set the top one to overlay).

Poor little thing. Looks like a dog might have had it. IĀ  hope it was OK. Must have been disoriented to be around in the day.

My friend ladybugvoodoo [link] told me when she was little there was this possum that had half of it's face missing. It would come up to the house to be fed. Because of half it's face being gone, food wouldn't stay in very well when the possum tried to chew. It was so determined to survive that it would push the food back into it's face hole when it tried to roll out. I found the story inspiring. Possums are NEAT! I am trying to get a pet skunk. It is illegal to sell them here, but I think it is legal to own one. They are much like cats- only they don't knock crap off the top of the refrigerator. I need sleep now.....

My cats are retarded and will knock anything off of anything else. Especially Gabe. She will come in my room and walk on the dresser and knock everything off onto the floor. i don't let her in my room.

Yep. He's actually leaving because the cat is hissing at him. He went under the porch and then out the side into the woods.

Nice. It looks like it went a couple of rounds with Gabe already. Why did you name him Gabe, by the way?

Her name is actually Gabriel, I just call her Gabe. My sister named her. She just liked the name.

They are very strange creatures. I didn't even know we had them around here until about 10 years ago when I saw a dead one in a ditch. Then, about five years ago, they started coming up on our front porch to eat the cat food. Also, I see dozens of them per month in the road that have been hit and killed by cars.

These things are crazy looking. My brother-in-law actually petted one of them about that size a couple of years ago. You won't see me touching large, wild mammals anytime soon.
