--------------------
Basic Stage: Salmeander - The Drifting Pokemon
Type: Water
Ability: Freefloating
Name Meaning: Salamander-Meander
Evolves: lvl 21
It is not a strong swimmer, and so it tends to ride the current, picking up any food that floats by.
-----------------
First Stage: Algaetor - The Swimming Pokemon
Type: Water/Grass
Ability: Swift Swim/Chlorophyll
Name Meaning: Algae-Alligator
Evolves: lvl 41
Its oar-like flippers mean it is a strong swimmer. It can swim directly into an oncoming current to chase prey. As it grows, its skin produces a special substance which encourages Algal growth.
-----------------
Second Stage: Crocanoe - The Rowing Pokemon
Type: Water/Grass
Ability: Swift Swim/Chlorphyll
Name Meaning: Crocodile-Canoe
It basks in the sunshine to supplement the algae growing over its body; Some mistake it for an abandoned river boat. It is an ambush predator, hiding amongst reeds, then lunging at its prey.

It was originally but the only grass-type trait it has is the algae that grows on its body (not actually a part of the body itself) and they could hardly attack with that...
