Description
Have you ever felt awake inside a dream? No Modifications besides adding the border.
The back of the model was illuminated with a Nikon SB-800 Speedlight flash on ETTL Wireless mode. This gives her an effect that separates her from the dreamlike background of forest canopy, making it look subtly as if she doesn't belong there. My goal was to get her lit as if she were just stepping out of bed, with the early morning sun hitting her, through a large bay window perhaps. I achieved this by layering diffusers on top of my flash, and aiming it up at her body, leaving the legs in the dark. The sun shining through the trees took care of creating her dream world. I'm very happy with how this came out

It's really beautiful I love the flare of light up in the left hand side there... it's quite dark which makes it a bit weird at first but when you actually LOOK at it it's really beautiful.

Thank you, I'm glad that you took that time to look. It's definately a photograph that you have to observe the wonderful details of it before you can appreciate the dark nature. Once you do that you see that the dim light is a very important piece to the puzzle. Thanks again

Thanks Pete
When you look closely at this piece I feel you notice that the dim light is actually really important to the scene. It's certainly something that you have to take a serious look at to really get the beauty...But IMO it came out perfectly. Thank you my friend

I think you got the technique just right. Although I had to move around a bit to get the lighting right....But I think that is my monitor

Thanks
I agree it may have been a wee bit dark. I was just happy that it came out as it did straight from the camera; I didn't want to make any adjustments. I just lightened it up a hair though...little better now?
