Description
Center City, Philadelphia. Shot on my way to the museum of art.As told in the Bible, Babel was an attempt to create our own pathway to heaven, "our" kingdom. It is our nature to consume all that we can. Mankind's reserve only lasts for so long. The lesson learned is that we are not without limitation. In modern form though, we continue to build our towers to the heavens. Continue to raise our position higher and higher above the degenerate bum on the street. It is funny how we fail to realize that after a hundred years of climbing higher, we will all land six feet under the ground that he sleeps on. This goal seems to be nothing more than chasing our tails...building our egocentric worlds that will surely not last. We should all strive to work at more open and loving goals, knowing that building ourselves up will never amount to anything more than a hundred wasted years.

So... we spend our lives trying to ascend to levels of happiness and achievment which are ultimately pointless.... I understand what your saying, but I just can't help loveing those tall buildings.
Great photograph Josh. The muted greys work really well for architecture shots and you have positioned everything so the central building is really penetrating up into the sky. The image really reflects your comment.
