Description
I have decided to begin a series depicting my home town; home town being the town that I grew up in, and will very very soon be moving away from. This series depicts Saint Albans as I recall it...from my early days to now...not necessarily as anyone else recalls it. Places that hold a special meaning or connection to a certain memory, objects that remind me of life here, anything that makes this the place I grew up...where my life began.I've decided to call this series First Beginnings, as we have many beginnings in our life, but this place was and will always be my first. I haven't decided how many pieces I will create of it...not many probably...there isn't much to this town
--------------------------------
A Sore Sight for Sore Eyes:
Do you remember that place, be it a building, a landmark, or a tall tower that was always the first thing you remember seeing as a child that told you that you were almost home, when you had been out of town for a while? Well here's mine. These two towering structures were always the first thing I remember seeing as a child coming back from vacations. In one way it was a saddening sight, to know that it meant the vacation was officially over, but in other ways it was always a comfort, to know that I was almost home again...where my friends, and the world as I knew it was. A familiar sight, from an unfamiliar angle. I hope that you will enjoy this piece
Full view is always appreciated!
Only post-modifications were black and white conversion, and some contrast adjustment
First Beginnings Series:
Part 1: To Protect and to Serve
Part 3: Field of Dreams
Part 4: Aspirations

And that tall tower seems to shrink as the years go by and you get taller and older and more blase...
I remember.
Beautiful picture for what you remember and for the image itself.
