Description I have decided to begin a series depicting my home town; home town being the town that I grew up in, and will very very soon be moving away from. This series depicts Saint Albans as I recall it...from my early days to now...not necessarily as anyone else recalls it. Places that hold a special meaning or connection to a certain memory, objects that remind me of life here, anything that makes this the place I grew up...where my life began.

I've decided to call this series First Beginnings, as we have many beginnings in our life, but this place was and will always be my first. I haven't decided how many pieces I will create of it...not many probably...there isn't much to this town I don't really expect anyone to see much in these pictures, as they stem from a more personal level than a globally artistic level. Then again...it's my best pieces that never get any comments anyways, so it doesn't matter much to me either way. But, I still hope you can enjoy these pieces with me

Field of Dreams:

Another place that we remember clear as day from our childhood are the first places we would play and grow and watch the world go on, and dream of what we would do and become all those years later when we ourselves grew up. Oakes Field is certainly one of those places for me. Before I even began grade school I would play in this field with my friends, and imagine myself in the years ahead. From watching the highschoolers play football to admiring the weekend club that flew their remote control airplanes there, this field certainly sparked a devine interest in the world. The school is closed and the field is fading away now, but much like the old Oak in Silverstein's book The Giving Tree, all used up and nothing but a stump, she still offered a friendly quiet place to sit and rest the grown boy's weary mind. Oakes field offered the same to me today.

Full view is always appreciated!
