24k gold? Dear Lord, what were they thinking? XD
Great shot, though. I love the way the top seems to sparkle in the dark. And the way the photo sort of fades out to the right. I love negative space.

beautiful night exposure...its tilted in a tiny tiny bit to the right, its ever-so-slight but i might fix that and outside of that, its excellent, nice work.

Thank you!
It does appear that way...it's actually because of the angle at which I was shooting. I checked using guides in photoshop after i took the image to see what was off about it, comparing them to some vertical lines such as the flagpole in the foreground...and it indeed is straight. I really don't know what's off...good observation though, not easy to notice, luckily!

i too did the same thing with guides, i copied/pasted it and though the tower may be parallel with the pole... its not with the edge of the frame, i rotated it just a tad in crop and it looked great, good capture either way.

Sorry I never ended up replying to this one. Thanks for checking on that I've updated the original, just haven't gotten around to replacing it on here yet. And thanks again for the comments!

I really couldn't tell you. West Virginia had a strong thriving economy when industrialization was in big demand, which is the time this building was constructed. But, in the recent couple of decades as the economy has shifted to commerce, the steel and chemical industries pulled out, and West Virginia now has one of the most troubled economies in the United States. So, these days it certainly doesn't reflect much of anything. Either way, a 24k gold dome...don't ask me!
And thank you...I'm beginning to really enjoy the possibilities of night photography. I can't wait to get to some places with even more good scenery and lighting to play around with

Your night stuff is really good. You balance the light really well.
Love the building as well. But why have a gold dome?

Gracias
Thank you for the input...yeah possibly. It was really my intent, to have the architecture protruding out of nowhere, sort of fading over to nothing, and to throw a little off-balance into the composition.
