She stepped up to the platform.

The field ahead was scared from a previous battle, and fog had settled across the grass. A mixture of fear and exhilaration filled her body, she was finally here.
A large hologram appeared above her as her challenger arrived on the other side.
The crowd cheered again and horns could be heard amongst the roar. The hologram signalled for them to get ready

A countdown started, rolling down to one. Go. She was first. Stepping forward she grabbed a Pokeball from her belt. A rush of adrenaline shot through her as she curled her arm back and launched it high over the battle field. At its highest point, the Pokeball snapped open and a bright light tore from inside.

A large scaly beast appeared. It unfolded its leathery wings and swung a fiery tail. A deep, rolling growl filled the air and the reptile lifted its head and blinked at the bright lights. It was a Charizard. It was a young female, huge, but she could still get much bigger.
It stretched its wings wide and puffed its chest. Combustable drool oozed from its maw, igniting in small flashes. It turned as the crowd cheered and is retaliation, it let out a thunderous roar that only made them scream louder.
