Growlithe are loyal and easily trained pokemon.They are becoming rarer and rarer in wild but are now a well known familt pet. when they are young they have a lot of energy so they need a lot of attention and love.
The down sides to them is that they sed a lot of hair, they slobber and tend to set things alight.
Their fur is symilar to many mammelian fire type pokemon where they have fire resistant hair and secreet a fire repelant oil that they spread through their fur with their large tounges.
They have large fire 'lungs' where methane from their diet builds up until they relase it and is ignited by a small spark which is a reminance of its electric type cousins.
This accounts to many fire types, both reptilian and mamelian. however a few fire type pokemon have other forms of creating fire by combining different chemicals.

This is really good. Very believable. The tail, I think could look a little chow doggier, and less like the anime tail with texture, but the tail's it.

I'd say it's best to avoid anime curly tails (including jigglypuff's curl). Keeping close to the anime design can be good in some ways, but the way the anime draws bushy, curled tails doesn't look real in a realistic drawing. It's tough to believe there's a structure under there.

Well there are very unbeleivable hair styles in the world, you only have to look at primates and marmosets to see it. I think they can be beleivable, you just have to suspend you disbeleif in some cases
