Krabby Alola Form
Species: Coconut Crab
Type: Ground-Water
Abilities: Shell Armour, Coconut Crush
Evolves: Kingler
Height (ft): 2'4
Pokedex: In the Alola Region, Krabby have evolved to live mainly on land and have even been seen climbing trees. Each year there is a large migration across the islands which can cause a lot of problems for the locals.

Yeah, I think the most disappointing for me is Dugtrio. Β I remember seeing an idea a fan came up with where they decided to make them volcano themed and turned them into fire types. Β That actually looked like a cool concept. Β What does Gamefreak give us? Β A design that I swear was meant to be used as a joke.

If you knew the science behind the idea you'd realize despite its silly look it was a brilliantly designed Alolan form. The 'hair' is suppose to be a hair like glass that forms in volcano. I forget what they call it.Β

You mean steel? Β Alolan Dugtrio's whiskers are strands of steel, not obsidian. Β But you're right, there is a reason behind the goofy appearance, but that also doesn't mean that it wasn't poorly done, either. Β It's not the worst Alolan form, but the 'Boy Band' look doesn't help it with people who don't understand.

Actually the Real life counter part is a type of glass, but its what's their based on. But you're right, the boy band look doens't help it at all.

Tips? Well, use lots of reference. I always had a picture of Krabby while drawing and looked at coconut crabs for interesting features. Plus in Photoshop you can sample colours etc which makes it more believable. Hope that helps.

Actually, it's probably the opposite. Being a land based crab rather than ocean, there would be less completion and natural predators. Allowing it to grow much bigger. But I'm sure being bigger helps in battle

It sounds like it would be an offensive ability to me. Kind of like Mold Breaker or Tough Claws.
Here's an idea. How about it gives all physical attacks the added effect of breaking through Light Screen and Reflect. Think of it like Brick Break but for any attack.
