Description
Thought I'd have some fun with Paras and Parasect and do some paint overs of Ken Sugimoris' original artwork
1: Normal Kanto.
2: After the Mushroom kills them and they become bug/Ghost types.
3: Living in symbiosis with the mushroom instead of slowly being killed by them.
4: Cured of the mushroom.
5: if they had never had been introduced to the mushrooms.
6: If they lived in symbiosis with a plant

I really love the Symbiosis One or Cured One :> (Wish that was the case for Paras instead of catching the pokemon and just letting it walk around with a parasitic fungus on its head
Like honestly that's always been my question if the Pokedex can tell you it has a parasite why couldn't you ever get rid of it when you caught it? :0 )

I think the parasite just becomes too ingrained in the nervous system of the big at birth and if you tried to remove it, you would in turn, kill the host

Yer they are paint overs, but the design ideas are still mine. The stamp at the bottom is because a lot of people share my work and I still want them to know who did the edits.

right, but they say that the artwork is "by Joshua Dunlop" when it's clearly not, they just photoshopped it. It just rubs me the wrong way, you know. they're claiming art that isn't theirs

Hello ! Your designs are very cool (I really appreciate Parsect with his cute eyes) but I'd like to clarify something. Mushrooms are not plants. I fact, there are closer to animals. So the last proposition should rather be : "If they lived in symbiosis with a plant."

There are fungus that does that in real life... just to ants.

Actually, not just to ants, but other insects too. That one that inspired the story behins Paras is actually based on a fungus that parasitizes on the caterpillar stage of a moth. Apparently the apparatus that grows out of the caterpillar's head once it's dead is prized as an herbal medicine in China and Tibet. I remember seeing one that did something similar to the eyestocks of a snail too.
