Here are some concept art that never made it to the cut for some reason or other, a few of you will be happy to see some new Evo faces in there, but they wont be the final designs. (please comment an not just fave)1. Redesign of Charmander but didnt like it in the end

okay. i wanna start by saying, i am not an artist, i just dance. i know you wanting critiques, but i feel i am not qualified to say anything like that so ima just tell you what i like. first: LOVE machamp. fighting types are my type and machamp looks absolutely amazing. he looks like he fights golems and onixes for fun. even if he is at level 20 and they are at 65-70, and he still can hold his own. second: i am not a pikachu fan, by any means, but #18 got me. it reminded me of a puppy that is excited to see you. for the psyducks, i liked #10 cause he looked the least intelligent. i think the denser the psyduck looks, the better. and finally, LOVE gengar's smile. it reminds me of gluttony from fullmetal alchemist (who happens to be my 2nd favorite anime character). i actually try to pull off that same "smile" when i dance, to give my dancing a demonic feel. over-all, LOVE the whole thing, those were just what stood out to me.

Great sketches all around. The little Pikachu studies are adorable. Love Pinsir's squishy bug mouth, and the detail in its insectoid design makes it feel so alive. The full team on number five looks awesome especially that massive Nido(king?)
Also like the sketch with the removed casing on the pokeball. Never thought too deeply about it, but it would make sense that those things would be beyond the bright colors and patterns that cover them.
There's something very charming about sketch 17. Human and POkemon interaction has always been pretty fascinating due to the language and instinct barrier. I'm getting a sense of a high amount of trust between the owner of that hand and the Grass-type as I don't think Ivysaur's seeking to clamp down anytime soon. That's the amount of friendliness I'm getting from that simple piece.
Loving the duck family. So cute and downy, I really like how you handled the transition from vague cartoon-y smoothness to realism.

Really like the Golduck + Psyduck, especially the former as it manages to pull off looking like a duck, but being reptilian all the same, from the scaly arms and feet to the almost dinosaur-like poise and tail. (:

You know this reminded me of a conversation my grandfather and I had (on pokemon strangely) I was watching the new Arceus movie and he came over for a visit. He told me he thought the background and effects in the scenes were great for a cartoon but didn't understand why the threw in these horribly unrealistic characters. They just don't mesh with the background at all.
I think if the actual cartoon were as detailed as these neither me or him would have much a problem with it. Only problem is little children might not like it anymore. lol
I really like your golduck design. And psyduck looks more cute and less dorky than in the anime
