I like Charmader and Bulbasaur but Squirtle dosent look allot like a Turtle.

well its trying to find a middle ground between the anime and the reality, if it looked exactly like a turtle it wouldnt be cute or recognisable

i was looking at real turtle skin, Squirtle are synopsids, having both elements of mammals and reptiles, so its difficult to find a middle ground

I love this. Do you think you'll do this same concept for the other starters? I'm a huge fan of the 2nd generation and enjoy it almost as much as the first. I think it would be amazing to see how you would interpret the totodile, cyndaquil and chikorita. But I really love how you did this. Squirtle still looks adorable even in his realistic form.
