Another scene made in Maya, based on a Feng Zhu sketch.A textured version will come within a very near future.

Feng Zhu is so talented when it comes to these scenes. I have alot of his concept art from Gnomon, im going to check out his DVD on matte paintings maybe i can get some ideas. Asfar as your cranes, they look like NURBS is this so? I can see tons of filleting and revolving, or are these just built from circular primitives via poly's.

yeah...his concepts are great Everything is polygons, some part of the cranes got a bit to smooth normals, making them look to soft. They are supposed to be harder. Got alot of tweaking to do on this one.

I remember having to do this design as well for class back in the day, so i know feng zhus work. I think you approached it and accomplished it pretty well. Great work.

Currently i haven't got any big plans on what to do with it. But since it going to be in my showreel i'm gonna texture it and then some kind of animation, so I will rig the "cranes" and show them of.

i spent lots of time on those details, so it is nice that they work, I didn't set any poly-limit so all the details are modelled. I'm hopeing to make a low-poly version of it later and grab normalmaps from this one.

It took a week, but i didn't work full time, a few houres a day.
