Okay, done with crappy sketches and looong rp stories, and back to normal

Story

Alva and Nina returned home the next day. Both filled with emotions over the last week. Nina disappeared straight away into the stable to give Ex a nice and long grooming session and some well deserved carrots. Alva greeted all of the staff who helped her carry away their luggage. Even though the week had been absolutely amazing, filled with so many wonderful events and ended with a silver medal for Nina and Ex, and the most awesome party, it was just one thing that occupied her mind. Lyo. She was hurt, disappointed, and felt stupid beyond explanation. She blamed herself for falling for him, after she had told herself so many times that she would no more fall for a man, it didn’t bring much else than misery.

Now it wasn't only the heartache itself she struggled with, that she would be able to get over in time. No, it was that she knew she would have to see him again, in under a month. He would come to Wedgewood, to enter the endurance race Damon had suggested she hosted. In the time it seemed like such a fun and exciting idea, but now it seemed like her worst nightmare. The stress of knowing she would have to see him again, and at the same time act professional, just got too deep in her. She couldn't sleep at night, she was constantly distracted, she could break down in a panic attach at any random moment. She hadn’t told anyone of what happened, only Caro. She was her best friend, and she knew she could trust her not to judge her in any way. Just be there for her, and she was. She was a great help, but it still didn’t take the stress, anxiety and pain away.

But she was the owner of the stable, and she had her responsibilities, and that was not something she could run away from. Dakota, the calm and steady mare seemed like her rock those weeks before the race. No matter how she acted around her, she would stand there, just as calm as ever, not letting anything affect her. Not the same could be said of the Norwegian Warmblood living at the stables. Alva had trained him from the beginning, and even though they had had their small troubles, they had always gotten along. Now it was like she came home to a completely different horse, and it just got worse and worse.

It started with him turning away from her, when she came into the stall or getting him from the pasture, or moving away when she was grooming him, like he just didn’t want to be near her. Then he started messing up while under saddle. Didn’t want to listen, no matter how she tried to communicate with him. After some weeks it got to the point where she couldn’t get up on his back without being thrown off at some point. Benjamin just really didn’t seem to like the new Alva. Not only did it affect their relationship, but Alva foul mood that rubbed off on him, seemed to leave him in a very different physical and mental state as well, that effected the other horses. Ex and Benji who used to share a pasture and be best buds, suddenly didn’t go together at all. Ex would randomly chase then mentally unstable stallion away from him.

Benjamin ended up as miserable as Alva in the end. His muscles were like rocks, hard and sore. He got more and more isolated as the other horses stayed away. They had all sorts of people looking at him, but no one could find anything physically wrong with him, to cause the state of his muscles and mind. In that light Alva continued dealing with him, was sure he just needed time. She never considered her own state of mind would rub off on the sensitive stallion, as did no one else of the staff.
