Sorry if this might be confusing to some of you, but I'll sorta be having two storylines going at the same time. The one that happens before the olympic, and then this one, that happens after the olympic and is connected to the relay event. The first one will eventually catch up to this one.

Story
Almost everything was ready for the entrants to arrive, the only thing left was to test ride the route to make sure it was safe. Alva had planned this mission for herself. She needed the time alone, and the mountains were the perfect place to relax, gather some energy and prepare for what would happen the next days. After all the things that happened at the Olympics she needed this. She needed to just be alone with her thoughts and feelings.

The loaded Grunga and Dakota into the hanger to drive up to the starting point, were she saddled them. She needed to take two horses, and she would never make one horse carry her the entire way. It was dark when she started, just as it would be for the entrants. Luckily for her, she knew the mountains, she knew were to ride and the places to absolutely avoid. The others didn’t, so she would probably finish the route quicker than most of the entrants.

She just hoped no one got hurt, or lost. If so she would blame herself, she was the one who had picked the route after all. She wasn’t too worried about the first and last part of the route. The road was wide and the biggest danger there was all the small stones that could get stuck in the horses’ hooves, if they got real stuck and weren’t removed, they could leave the horse lame.

She climbed up the mountain side, both horses stepping in mud and wet moss, sinking into it as they walked. At some point she even had to get off Dakotas back to lead the two horses through the almost swamp like ground. By the time the sun started rising they had finally reached far up in the mountain. With less climbing and a more even ground Alva finally got time to relax a bit.

It felt like she and Nina just had gotten back from Hungary, the planning of the event had just made time flown by. When she didn’t plan the event she always made sure to be busy with other things. It was just easier to keep her mind off all the things she didn’t want to think about, but she knew she had to confront them at some point, in a few days the entrant would arrive, and by then the time would be up.

Not that she hadn’t had enough to do after she got back. Benjamin had started acting up. He refused to listen to her, turned away in the box, refused to be caught in from the pasture, and under the saddle he had just become worse and worse. Now they were at the points where she could barely finish a session with him without being thrown off at least once. They had a vet, physiotherapist even an animal interpreter take a look at him. The vet found nothing wrong with him, the physiotherapist said all his muscles was like rocks. He was clearly stressed about something, but they couldn’t figure out what. The interpreter was obviously a fake as she started to talk about previously abuse that was haunting him, while they very well knew he had never been abused.

Alva got dragged back to reality when she realizes Dakota had stopped. They had reached a part of the stones where water constantly tickled down. They would have to find a way around. By the time they started on their way down it was getting dark again. She still hadn’t come to a clear conclusion of how to deal with the next days, she would just have to wait and take it as it came.

When she reached the car she was absolutely exhausted, both mentally and physically. Good thing the entrants only had to ride 1/3rd or the route.
