The ferocious Predacons!
These are the "Predacons" from the Decepticon side.
Razorclaw [Leader - bottom middle]
Headstrong [top middle]
Rampage [left]
Tantrum [bottom right]
Divebomb [top right]

Drawing these characters is very difficult for me because of their unique details from the other Transformers.
I enjoyed drawing them all for the first time and I put them in the jungle where they are going ready to hunt down some Autobots!

it makes sense as i can't tell what makes the other arm if dive bomb is like a back pack and the lion is the chest and torso.

I like that they use swords. They are also the more useful combiner team considering that when they merge, their minds donβt conflict with one another since they all have the same drive: hunt their prey

I want to do the Predacons but having a heck of a time just figuring out how stuff "moves". Figure I'll look at your pic of them cause you have such an awesome pic that may help.

I'm very pleased how you comment on my artwork kindly.
I watch my Transformers G1 dvds and find a specific episode I need to find a character for the right details. Then I figure out how I am going to pose them by drawing a human figure out line it makes it more easier to draw the final parts.

You do terrific work.
I just copied this off as reference cause it gives that much more than the Ark does. I use the Ark book a lot cause it gives nice lineart of each character but for these guys . . . I feel I need more. I use to go thru the internet and make myself reference pages of each character from whatever screen caps I found. I do that when I have questions especially colors. But I do love your Protectobot references cause it just breaks it down and makes it so simply. When I finally get around to coloring my latest Protectobot piece, I must dedicate it to you cause I referred to your sheets. I used them on my three Protectobot piece I did a month ago (time?) which really helped.

I own the ARK collection as well and i too use it for all my tf drawings now.
my only complaint with the book is all the drawings dont display every side of the characters though
or theyre too small-the details
Predaking's head for example. the details are too vague from the episodes themselve, and the ark version is just as badΒ

Its what the animators had to work from themselves. Β Why I love JP-V's work is that it shows the designs beautifully. Β His work on the Protectobots is awesome. Β I printed myself out copy of that for my own notes. Β Its just nice to have clear concise work that is equal and at times better than the Ark especially for TFs that came out in later. Β Sideswipe has great details in the Ark in front, back and side along with head views but as the book goes on, not all got that treatment. Β Or perhaps those sketches are lost since whomever did this book had to dig up some stuff.Β

Yes that is where the name "Predacons" came from that was used in Beast Wars. Thanks I love drawing G1 it's my favourite.
If you have the time I highly recommend give it a go such a unique cartoon.

Yeah I was seeing how they would compare to the Dinobots, they would top up as the kings of the jungle but Dinobots would still top it up in strength!
