I don't think anyone cares. Everyone is so caught up in everything, in the clothes, and drugs and stuff like that. Most punks really don't like me very much. I value my education (even though I can't stand school) and don't go out and party every night and do drugs. I knew this kid, he looked like a hippie but was fuckin' punk rock. He challenged everything and was himself, but now he's just a stoner. It's so much easier to take on the world and make a difference if you're educated and not just going in blind.
I could rant on forever... oh and by the way, I don't really believe the whole punks not dead crap. I was just thought it was a kinda clever name. haha. Anyway, hopefully punk will be reborn and something will happen.
Lets start a revolution.
What do you think?

Nah, the kids that are just in it for fashion aren't punk. I don't know what the hell is punk, but who cares. Punk, like you said, was about being yourself for you, not for anyone else, and not to fit in. But that doesn't mean that punk is about "being different like everyone else". Half the kids that are just trying to be different for the sake of it are just as bad as the meat heads and the cheerleaders (no offense to anyone in particular).
To me punk was about being yourself, and people accepting you for who you were. If some "punk" shmuck is giving you shit for educating yourself, fuck them. If some "punk" doesn't think your punk because you don't get high, fuck them. Some of the best bands are straight edge.
Thats why I think that punk isn't dead. Because the people who think they are punk now are just bastardizing the word.

It was a march on the Pentagon. The bus I needed to take to get home was leaving, and as we drove up to the barricade some protesters were trying to get through the Police. I can tell you more if you want, I don't know how much you care to know.

WELL, It was St. Patrick's Day, and me and one of my friends from UDel hopped a bus down to DC to take part in an anti-war march organized by ANSWER ([link] ). The march set out from the Lincoln Memorial and went the 2ish miles to the Pentagon. The march was specifically intended to put pressure on congress to not allow King George II to bully them into funding the war indefinitely, and to bring about a withdrawal of all American troops in Iraq.
Met a whole bunch of people there, including a dude with a sick mohawk who let me listen to some LĂC with his headphones for a bit, and these two guys who were part of the bloc trying to get past the barricade. The sad part is that those were the only punks I saw there, it was mostly old people and neo-hippies. I mean the whole reason I got into punk was because I was pissed off about shit, and now it looks like no one cares.
So, what more would you like to know?
