My second ever digital painting was a really quick job: On September 3, 2011 I ran into a screencap of the Farscape character Chiana somewhere on the web, saved a bunch of photos from Google image search, and started painting the next day, finishing it on 9th. (Sadly, as it turned out later, I didn’t like the show itself.)

I painted right on top of the reference photo (no idea where I originally found it). I initially wanted to give her this faux-leather outfit that — based on screencaps — seems to be her most characteristic one, but by the time I was done with the face and hair I was so fed up with the piece that I simply deleted the existing beginnings of the piping, whipped up a quick background, and called it done.

The painting was first posted on the dswp.de forum . Note: The art advice in this thread may be less than useful, I have a tendency to talk out of my shapely bottom.

The download contains a full-resolution (2560×1600) PNG, a GIF animation of the process, the XCF work file (Gimp native format), and a PSD conversion of the same (quality unknown).
