Description I'm not necessarily on a roll here, it's just that I've started so many scenes over the past weeks/months, and if I don't finish them they will forever stay locked away on my drive.

I had started this one prior to the scene with the Matron and creepy kids:
and then this one followed

So it was time that I finished ole Alden Rey up and move on to other things. He's another minor character who actually ends up playing a key role in a story BjΓΆrn wrote a couple of years back, but we had not developed him much as to how he became important and what actually took place to make him go bonkers.

Here are some others of Alden that I had previously made:

Alden is M4 morph with Hyper Suit from Xurge3d.com; created in Poser
Matron Bauer is V4 morph created by in Poser/Hexagon; as well as all the fine props here he created in Hexagon.
Rendered in Vue; postwork in Photoshop.

Thanks for looking!

Extrasolar is created with the 5th member of ABBA

wow - almost photorealistic look! External render engines make all the difference ...
Apart from this pic you really have a good deal of extraordinary artwork inside your gallery. I'm impressed!

ROFL @ "5th member of ABBA" OK so this one REALLY rocks! Both characters look amazing!. The suit looks wicked and the reflections and structure are superb! Wonderful work Ryan! I think I have to rank this one in my top of the favorites list!

Yes, the elusive 5th member of ABBA! He was the original "Dancing Queen" inspiration.

Thank you very much!!! I'm so glad you dig this. For Alden I used the Poser Shader Tree when I imported into Vue -- it'll eat up some resources, but it does nice things with the textures. I can show you that one day if you want to give it a whirl. As long as your character isn't huge file sized or doesn't have very elaborate hi-poly accessories Vue is usually pretty forgiving. But I forgot you have a NASA computer now -- you're good!

LOL that is so hilarious the way you two play on each other. And yes indeedy, I'm up for a lesson anytime. I still have one in store for you as well. And yes, NASA... I love my PC! We're talking about adding even more RAM too, depends on a couple of things but it might be doable.

Soon I'll have my weekends free again, so let's definitely have a knowledge transfer session. I have many questions in regards to PP2012, and definitely want to learn about the lighting from you. I got some of my Runtimes linked back, but one is being problematic. I might have to just re-install certain ones under a new 2012 Runtime. Ugh.

That is awesome and yes indeed, I'm in. Just let me know when you want to tackle it. It's really super easy, you'll love it. I know what you mean about runtimes... I am SOOOOO glad though, that I manually installed all of mine and did the editing way back when I first started because now I take one look at my "daz" runtime and shriek! I really don't like those installers!

The DOF in this is stunning. I love how the foreground is so detailed and realistic -- the floor is perfection. And then the back fades into the fuzzy suggestion of Matron Bauer, which is amazingly sinister. And I somehow missed your render with the creepy-as-fuck K4 kiddos... Way to put them to good use. I can't manage to put together anything with K4 that I like. Never went with the evil mutant child idea, though. Huh...

Ah, thank you, thank you! You're too kind! Yes, these two images were the first I had a need for them, as I had always thought they looked a bit odd and creepy in those promo images. And when this plot line came up, the bells went off. Of course BjΓΆrn used the K5 in his, and if you think the K4s are bad, those new Genesis models bring a whole new level of terror. LOL So yes, use them for the evil mutants that they are -- I can't wait to see what you do with them!

Thank you so much, Vaskek! It's actually more of a robotic "alien" (haven't quite fleshed that out just yet), but yes, creepy nonetheless.

Oh wow! You really captured the realism especially in his face! I love the depth of field you have created here too with the Matron in the background. Fantastic work sweetie! yay! I'm sure it feels good to complete some of the renders you have stacked up as well! yay! It's good to see you posting again! weeeee!

Thank you Suzi! I used the Poser Shader Tree option when I imported Alden into Vue, which sucks Vue's resources dry but gives the good Poser textures; it's a trade-off in realism vs the straight Poser obj import (but faster speeds) and tweakage of all the textures like I normally do. Either way, it's all in the lighting I think. I didn't want to use DOF here, but I thought the blurred Matron in the background gave it a more creepy feel. I'm finally done with Alden for a while and time to move on to the thousand other things I have in my mind.

Your most welcome Ryan! I totally agree, it's all about the lighting for sure! You guys are so good at exporting your Poser stuff to Vue! One of these days I'm going to try that app. hehe I think this image turned out so cool! yay!

This is great! I love the way you built this scene! Alden looks great and I think the Matron in the back is so perfectly posed! I have said it before and I will say it again. You are a Vue magician. You made a Vulcan mindmeld with it It is like you are controlling it with your mind. Beautiful work my friend And yes. ABBA was a great thing, but I have moved on - Extrasolar is far greater
