Description Just a side distraction with some old greeble objects in Vue that Ariel-X modeled a few years, overlaid as dynamic eco-materials onto various flat objects (also modeled my master Ariel-X , as well as the Cataclysm ships and foreground tunnel). Mega fun, even though I had to coddle and sweet talk Vue in fear that it would lose its mind each time I added another greeble-crusted object. At some point I had to just say ENOUGH and go with what you see here. Character was made in Poser and imported.

Many thanks to Ariel-X for the objects, and for prodding me along to finish and post this scene. (Side note and fun fact about Ariel-X -- a child actor who narrowly missed being cast as Damien in the original "The Omen" film. Can you believe?! )

Lance! You and me both, old friend. I'm so behind and haven't been active for a while. Thanks! I'm glad you stopped by and like it. Was just playing around but was fun to get back into it, if for just a bit. Hope all is well in your world, bud!

Wow!!  This is INCREDIBLE!! The composition on this is just perfect -- the scene feels incredibly vast.  Really amazing work in every aspect!

For the record, we don't hear the phrase 'greeble-crusted' enough.

Thank you very much! I had so much fun making this. And ahaha, yes, we need to encrust greebles onto everything so that we can use that phrase more often! It's so nice also not having to explain (unlike to some of my non-techy-geeky friends) what greebles actually are.

I can see how explaining 'greebles' to 'normal humans' might be cumbersome.  ("It's like in the first Star Wars movie, when they're in that firefight on the Death Star, all those little boxes and canyons on the surface of -- Wait.  What? You don't remember that?   Um... Okay, so you know how on the original Battlestar Galactica, there were -- Wait.  No Galactica either?  How about Star Trek Voyager?  You know.  The Borg?  You will be assimilated?  ... ... No??  Oh, COME ON.")  I wouldn't have that problem, as I don't really associate with 'normal' humans.

Well, that's not entirely true.  I'm a teacher, so I do associate with them. I just make sure they leave my classroom knowing what a greeble is -- thereby propagating non-normalcy in the population at large!

Funny! You know, I've given that EXACT same quiz, almost word for word, about greebles. I end up just saying "FORGET IT!" or giving them the puppy-dog head tilt because, let's face it, if none of those examples makes sense to them, NOTHING WILL and that puzzles me and makes me sad at what they're missing. I'm honestly so thrilled that you teach about greebles -- "Teacher of the Century" award goes to YOU! Yes, this world seriously NEEDS more non-normalcy, so keep planting those seeds!

OMG! How did you sneak this in here? I love it! I have loved it all along and it was fun to see some of the work that goes into making an epic image of this scale. I am so glad you posted it. My favourite part is a little shadow area in the lower right corner. My space appartment is there! Damien, hahaha! Fun forever I can’t believe it, but, if they had made that movie a few years later, and if they had seen that photo, I wouldn’t even need to audition for the part. “You are both adorable and diabolic! You are hired!”

Aww thank you so much, dear friend! Your original greebles were so much fun to play with, and the low-poly aspects made them perfect for the eco-material. I'm so glad I got to share the progress with you in real time, and for your sugge And hahaha that image of you will forever be funny in that unintentional crop! But there was nothing diabolical about it knowing you as I do. "Are you an angel?"

This has to be the largest Lego set ever. It's like galactic size quality. And it presents a totally impressive backdrop. wow...

Fascinating 'little' piece on Bjorn. He's quite the talent and one of my absolute fave artists EVER.

haha gigantic Lego! That's kinda how it felt assembling the scene. Thank you so much, Glen! Really appreciate your kindness and praise. And I was joking about Bjorn -- it was an inside joke from an inadvertently funny crop of a baby pic he'd scanned. There's not an evil bone in that guy's body, and one of the kindest humans I've ever met. And yes, he's one my favorite artists too, and an endless source of inspiration and encouragement.
