Description
Kazuki from Get Backers. He's one of my favourite characters from that series. As a follow up to Mai HiMe I thought I'd do some more fanart. The same as the other one it was done entirely with a mouse (except the loose hair strands and the threads themselves).Emre liked Mai so much that he asked me to make a wallpaper for him so I did. Also since he's dicovered I can draw anime, he wants me to draw all the designs for the bookmarks for the anime society this year. So you might be seeing a bit more upwork up soon.

Yay! Thank you! Hehe. I loved him straight away when I saw him but some of my friends who were also watching it were a little weirded out because he looks so much like a girl. Well... considering my tastes in Jrockish men, they shouldn't really have been surprised.

Hehe. Thank you very much. Mind you, these anime drawings aren't represenative of my style. I am not, never have been and never will be an anime/manga artist. A picture every once in a while or the occassional spurt is good but after all, it's only fanart and imitation. I know that I'm a good imitator so I'd rather do things in my own style. After all, anime is a style coined by somebody else, even a group of somebody else's. I don't want to excel at something that belongs to somebody else - I want to succeed and be acknowledged for something that is mine. Does that make sense?

Wow! You just voiced exactly how I feel! I completely agree with you! I've always found the people that act like they can replace or make somebody's style better to be extremely disrespectful. I've always found that in imitating somebody's style when I'm drawing fan art is honoring them for their talents in a way, and I never draw copyrighted characters in my own style... unless it's something like Harvest Moon because the style changes so frequently!^__^;; lol But seriously... how could somebody make a piece of fan art in their own style better than the original? The original is the perfect style because that's what the mangaka/artist intended in the first place...
I'm glad I've met such a respectable person!^__^ Thank you for being unique!

Hehe. Thank you. Well, I don't tend to talk much to manga artists because... I don't know why - they're not my type of people, I guess - I don't feel I have too much in common. Obviously I really admire some really AMAZING manga artists but unfortunatelly they never talk back to me - I guess they're too popular to notice just another admirer.
Hehe. However, I have drawn Rukia in my own style and possibly I've done fanart in my own style too but I can't remember any other occassions. I do think that that the style that it was drawn in is the definitive style. It's always great to capture the character as they actually are and as they were intended. It's just that usually I can't do this - it takes a special kind of inspiration and motivation to make me copy other people's characters on other people's styles. Hehe. These conditions usually include an artistic slump of my own in which case my morals and my interest are not hurt by doing something I consider less than original - it's simply making something pretty, as you say, a TRIBUTE.
Hehe, and if you want to pay a tribute to my uniqueness as an artist you should at least check out the representative works of my style in my gallery. But thanks already for what you've said! It's been really cool talking to you!
