It took me a second to figure out that what I am looking at is an elaborately designed apple-shaped ring.
It is an amazing trick of perspective that catches one first by making them wonder just what this pretty thing is that they're looking at, and then amazes them with the way that something so familiar can suddenly be so exotic at the same time. I especially like the rosy underlay on the sides of the 'apple', and the gems studded into it reminds me of the 'shiny' effect that a well-polished apple has.
The leaves are exquisite, too, with their delicate construction and the lined, radiant green; the rope/chain braiding effect makes me think of a nifty little gift. You can't eat this apple, but it does catch one's eye prettily. Eye candy, as it were.

were this made into a ring...i really have to ponder... how much for such a wonder? the gold and diamonds would be cast and set by dedicated hands... the leafs should be of paridot...the red by rubies luster...but such a thing exists with the space of zero air...
