I haven't seen the movie yet myself, but from an artistic standpoint I really like the premise of focusing on the ordinary people during a kaiju attack

Cloverfield isn't that ridiculous, true the design isβ¦unusual but it very original. I personally think Clover is a very suitable to be kaiju, i mean look at the MUTOs.

I'm just gonna chime in here and add that the shakey camera is what killed this movie for me. I'm unfortunately plagued by bad motion sickness and it's also why I didn't enjoy The Blair Witch Project, and I can barely stomach watching old home videos.
That said, this comic is hilarious! I was also let down by the look of the creature, having seen the aforementioned whale thingy. If a sequel is made, I will only see it if it's done on a steady cam.
